What is CBD Oil?

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over 113 active compounds found in the cannabis plant called cannabinoids. It works naturally to reduce anxiety, pain, and sleep issues without any mind altering effects or "high" for the person using it.

CBD is not psychoactive

It does not change a person’s state of mind when they use it. However, it may produce significant changes in the body, and it is showing some significant medical benefits.

Full Spectrum

The benefits of a full spectrum CBD oil is that many of the other chemical compounds and cannabinoids in a full-plant extract have healing properties. For example, the terpenes in the cannabis plant are known to have anti-inflammatory properties. Other cannabinoids found in a whole plant extract are thought to enhance the overall benefits of taking CBD. Because full-spectrum CBD contains all cannabis plant compounds, it may have a more potent effect than pure CBD. Research suggests that CBD’s health benefits may be more prominent when multiple compounds from the cannabis plant are present. This is what researchers call the ‘entourage effect.’

How Does it Work?

CBD binds to the cannabinoid receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system which play a key role in maintaining homeostasis (aka balance) by communicating with other biological systems and helping other systems in the body stay healthy. CBD acts as a potent antioxidant and works with different receptors in our brain, gut, and immune system to help do what is needed in order to stimulate all kinds of beneficial changes throughout the body. 

How Do You Take CBD?

The best way to take CBD oil is under the tongue. 
Avoid food and water at least 5 mins before and after taking CBD oil.
Stand in front of a mirror to make sure you are putting the drops directly under your tongue.
Let the CBD oil sit under your tongue for 1-2 minutes so it can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream. 
After 1-2 minutes swallow what is left of the CBD oil.

CBD dosage:

Proper serving sizes for CBD vary widely depending on individual factors, like:

- intended use
- body weight
- metabolism
- body chemistry

The four factors listed above should be considered on a case-by-case basis as CBD can work differently on individuals.

It’s always best to start with a small dose so that, if needed, you can increase it over time until you reach your preferred results.

Doses should be spaced at least 4 to 6 hours apart but can be taken at any time of day. Of course, if you’re looking to improve sleep, take it before bed.

The immediate effects of CBD typically happen within 30 to 90 minutes. Depending on your preferred method of administration, the immediate effects may vary.

Long-term results may take a number of weeks to accomplish.
